UEFA Champions League Football 2017-18

The Champions League Championship (official name in English: UEFA Champions League, formerly known as the European Cup) is the most prestigious international tournament at club level organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Football.2017/18 UEFA Champions League 163rd edition of the Tournament.
 

The 2017/18 champions League football season will be played between September 2017 ands May 2018.The competition was created in 1955 to 1956 under the name of European Champions Clubs Cup (original name in French: Coupe des Clubs Champions Europeens), to face the winning teams of the professional league tournaments the member nations. In 1992 the tournament was first restructured including the format of league competition in the quarter-final stage, and was renamed to its present name in 1992/93 edition. Then allow the participation of second place in the national league and tournaments to fourth UEFA coefficient depending on each championship. 

The winner of the 2017-18 Champions League competition disputes the European Super Cup and, as a representative of the Confederation in the Club World Cup FIFA. The current champion is the Barcelona football club. The Barca club is also the most successful club in the competition with ten titles.

A total of 32 teams participate in the competition, which is organized in a first round to be played as a league involved. There are eight groups with four teams in each group (UEFA rule, you cannot have two teams from the same country in a single group). The teams in the groups face each other back and forth and the top two go to the next round, the second round; third of each group will go to the knockout of the UEFA Europa League.
